MYRNA HAGLUND BIOGRAPHY
Born in New York but growing up in Portland, Oregon, Myrna studied art at Portland State University where she received recognition as an up coming artist. It was there she met her husband. After compleeting their studies, they travelled to Calgary for a visit and never left, being captivated by the landscape and blue skies. Myrna continued to study and pursue her art at the Alberta College of Art and Desisgn and The University of Calgary, working in sculpture and painting while raising a family.
Myrna recreates nature using acrylic paints and mixed media. Painting nature began after the purchase of an abandooned homestead. It was a place that captured her imagination and the pure joy of painting landscape and wildlife. Her love of Western Art gave her an opportunity to demonstrate painting buffalo/bison at the Calgary Stampede for some years. She participaated in a three person show at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. She constantlhy is engaging in new artistic challenges through travel, work, and shows with other artists
She strongly supports charitable organizations through painting donations.
